Dublin: Gardai investigate threats made against Simon Harris' home
An Garda Síochána (Irish police) are friday bingoinvestigating a number of phone calls to garda stations relating to threats against the home of the Tánaiste Simon Harris and his family, RTé has reported.
Harris and his family were not present in the house at the time but were allegedly advised by gardaí not to return until security checks had been completed.
It is understood the calls - which include bomb threats - were made on Telegram, which provides encryption, enabling callers to disguise their identity.
This threat is the third that the family has received in just over a week.
Specific threats were phoned in to garda stations in Wexford and Wicklow on Sunday.
It is understood detectives suspect the calls could be part of an elaborate hoax.
On Friday, a direct threat was made online to a close member of Harris' family and earlier that week another online threat was made to his children.
